MEMBERSHIP OF THE DFWA

Membership of Defence Force Welfare Association (DFWA) is open to any serving or former member of the Australian Defence Force, including Reserves; and their spouses, widows or widowers.

The DFWA needs your membership if it is to be successful in providing advice and support to its members. A strong membership helps us defend and improve conditions of service and continue Association activities in support of those who may need help in obtaining their entitlements.

A short information brochure provides further information and an application form for printing.

With effect from 1 January 2009, there are several new classes of membership as listed below and a new fee structure.

Individual membership entitles members to receive Camaraderie three times per year, monthly UPDATES (by email only) and access to the range of support from Branches including advocacy advice and welfare support.
Corporate Membership (membership taken out in 2008 will have membership till end 2009) As a DFWA corporate member your generous support greatly assists the Association in carrying out its lobbying activities for the benefit of the ADF serving and retired communities, and for the direct welfare support provided to individual members. Your organisation's membership is fundamental to the Association being able to undertake its full range of activities and as a corporate member you will be entitled to: - priority access to the DFWA’s well-respected advice at no charge; - complimentary advertising in Camaraderie (quarter page for Category B and half page for Category C) and a 15 per cent discount when advertising in Camaraderie for Category A memberships. - up to 10 copies of Camaraderie and UPDATE for directors, designated senior executives and your organisation's senior staff. Corporate Membership Categories All categories include GST for organisations domiciled in Australia and a tax invoice - A: $1000 + per year - B: $2000 + per year - C: $5000 + per year Corporate or institutional subscription to Camaraderie and UPDATE - $ 250 per year Your organisation will receive national journal, Camaraderie, three times a year, our monthly electronic bulletin, UPDATE and have access to advice from the Association when reasonably available. *Annual subscription to Camaraderie* by Australian libraries, educational institutions, clubs and Service messes - $A100 per year Annual subscription to camaraderie only by overseas libraries - $A120 per year To apply or renew individual membership, print a membership form from the brochure, complete the details and mail it to the appropriate DFWA Branch.
